  • Marco Antonio Murillo says:

Although manganese is the 12th most abundant elent in the earth´s crust (Parker, 1967), minable deposits of manganese ore are uncommon. Significant production comes from China, but other than that, manganese is mined successfully in less than a dozen of countries more. Feasible production of manganese is strongly restricted by a limited number of deposits, and by adequate concentration and refining methods. The chemistry of manganese is so versatile (multiple oxidation states and reactivity), that the mineral could still be considered a novel one. I think that the chances to bring back to America some of the production and more research on manganese applications is big thanks to patents such as the one American Manganese has. Add to that the lithium recycling method patents, and business plan the company has to stand firm as a strategic metals recycling company and you end up with a company with assets both down and upstream. I think Larry is right when he says “buy the dip”. However, better than buying the dip is buying the license to the patents, and for that matter, there are several paths. AMY´s positioning itself in Italy´s as a technology provider for the Li-battery gigafactory is one them. My best wishes for these and other Christmas goals to everyone.
