Relating to mining gold or any other minerals on asteroid “that are plentiful “I only can guess that it will take some time before being able to mine it ,
it will be very expensive
This will need a new, unknown for now, energy that is small enough cheap and reliable in order to propel space ships and mining materials & robots
Moreover every country will battle for these ressources and they will need new, very expensive and powerful armed forces to defend their discoveries
It will be not be as easy as they want everybody to beleive
they as well , can claim about a discovery that will have huge reserve and will be ready for mining , true or not, as it is impossible to be verified and they can use it as a new collateral for all the debts and derivatives
