Retired 2008 (part time teacher/blogger), AZ. Self educated economist/philosopher/theologian:

The above philosophers and teachers assumed that money was a ‘thing’ and that ‘value’ was a ‘thing’. Were they deceived? Or do we now need a new philosophy of ‘value’? Just what is ‘value’ in today’s market? Is it real or imaginary?

The key concept in finance and economics is this concept called ‘value’. Are you aware that as ‘value’ declines money disappears (vanishes)? Today, we live with imaginary ‘value’ and imaginary ‘money’. Look all around yourself (now) to discover this reality! So when we finally experience a major decline in ‘value’ (resulting from a major change in the business cycle) we also experience the ‘disappearance’ of our supposed money (equity and debt). It disappears because it does not exist!

Think of your personal home ‘value’. Let’s say it is $300,000 today. As this number declines (say lack of demand) the money of $300,000 could decline to $250,000, then to $200,000, then to $100,000, and the eventual end-point could be zero. Why does this happen? Where does ‘value’ go when it disappears? Disappearing ‘value’ happens because ‘value’ and our ‘digital $’ simply does not exist outside oneself. My equity in my house (assumed to be $300,000 less the mortgage) just vanishes into thin air as ‘value’ declines.

Are you taught in business school or in finance that ‘value’ is imaginary? Have you been taught that ‘value’ just vanishes from the face of our earth as demand dries up for a product? Have you been taught that our ‘money’ is a proxy for ‘value’ and also vanishes from the face of our planet as demand for a product dries up and disappears? What is taught in our elite schools of higher learning? Do these teachers understand this concept called ‘value’?

What is taught is that ‘value’ is a ‘thing’ which exists. What is taught is that money is a ‘thing’ which exists. Who is teaching that ‘value’ and ‘money’ are imaginary units of one’s consciousness (units of nothing)? Who shows how ‘value’ disappears and vanishes with the downturn in a business cycle? People push up the ‘value’ of  houses to unsustainable levels during a prosperity cycle. Then what happens? What happens during a downturn?

As the business cycle turns to bust, values decline and money just disappears and vanishes off the face of planet earth. Why is this so? Are you aware that ‘value’ and ‘money’ are mere units of one’s IMAGINATION? The so-called units of ‘value’ are nothing, have no existence, and these units disappear completely when a cycle turns from prosperity to bust. Value, my friends, is a unit of our inner spirit…not a ‘thing’ which exists. Who is taught this in their institutions of higher learning?

The deceptions in economics and finance are ubiquitous (everywhere). What is the ‘value’ of my house, my car, my boat, my jewelry, etc. (in reality)? Are you aware that this assumed ‘value’ is merely an ‘inner’ unit of your consciousness? Are you aware that all your ‘money’ (digital money) is nothing but ‘thin air’…also called units of your imagination? Who is taught what these economic concepts really represent? Few to none! Our teachers simply do not reflect reality when they teach economics.

We live in a world of gross deception, folks. Our official administrators are mostly deceived and corrupt. Our various financial pundits are mostly deceived and unaware of what is reality and what is deception. Do mere ‘numbers’ in one’s computer screen represent real things which exist? Do ‘numbers’ and ‘symbols’ in cyberspace represent anything which exists in reality? Who is taught reality in today’s schools of higher learning? What is a ‘number’ (say 1,000,000,000) in a computer account?

The issues of economics have been hidden from students as the teachers do not understand reality (so it seems). Are you aware that I and You have a mind? Are you aware that units within my/your mind are units of consciousness? Who is teaching this concept called consciousness? What is consciousness? Is it a ‘thing’ which exists? Is it a material item from nature? Just what is my/your consciousness? These concepts like ‘value’ and ‘money’ derive from our consciousness. So understanding consciousness is key to understanding ‘value’ and ‘money’.

If consciousness is not a ‘thing’ which exists then how can units derived from consciousness be a ‘thing’ which exists? Think on this concept called ‘value’. What is it? Where is it? Does my/your house contain ‘value’? Is ‘value’ inherent within matter? Does my/your car contain ‘value’? Is it not more real to say that my house is ‘valued’ in ‘imaginary’ units (say dollars) and that these dollars are mere units of my consciousness? What does this mean (in reality)? We need to understand reality!

If my dollars which I assume are real just vanish and disappear when a business cycle changes from prosperity to bust, then what are these dollars? Are they real? I would suggest that dollars (digital money) are nothing and are located no-where. Cyberspace is not a place on planet earth. Cyberspace is nothing but an ‘extension’ of my/your consciousness. It’s a space which consists of nothing and which has no material location on planet earth. Try find it? Where is it? Can you find your own inner consciousness?

I think it is time to get educated on today’s reality and forget all the teachers of yesterday. These teachers in our universities and colleges are mostly confused, deceived, and unaware of now realities. In reality, VALUE is inner. In reality, money is inner. These concepts of one’s MIND vanish and disappear when prosperity turns to bust. The coming cycle of bust could reveal these realities to these elites in higher positions of learning. I hope so! Think for yourself is my advice. I am:
