A Swedish Bishop from the city of Vaxjo, Sweden, has endorsed the Islamic call to prayer.  This call to prayer is a ‘multicultural’ issue for Swedes. Where does multiculturalism lead for my favorite country over in Europe? I am 100% Swedish and both my parents emigrated from Sweden. So I find it interesting to follow the politics over in Sweden. Being born in America makes me an American with Swedish blood. Let’s think about this concept called ‘multiculturalism’ for today’s missive.

Swedish Bishop Welcomes Muslim Call to Prayer as “Good” For Society, February 14, 2018

A Swedish Bishop has responded to an application to have the Muslim call to prayer broadcast in the immigrant suburb of Araby, Växjö by welcoming the move as a positive sign of multiculturalism. “Muslims are not visitors in Växjö, we live here,” said Imam Ismail Abu Helal, asserting that, “The Islamic community should be proud of their culture, and not feel like they have to hide.” Fredrik Modéus, the Bishop of Växjö, endorsed the proposal.

This mindset over in Sweden of promoting multiculturalism has its ‘good’ side and its ‘dark’ side IMO. The idea of allowing new immigrants to set up their own culture in Sweden is very democratic and this seems to be good (philosophically). But it does lead to significant changes over time. If I am Muslim (and believe in Islamic philosophy) and also desire to participate in the Swedish culture of multiculturalism, I can now also run for President or any other political office over in Sweden.

Multiculturalism means that any culture (there are now many in Sweden) can run for political positions and then impose new laws and thinking on the entire country. Multiculturalism means that all cultures are viewed as ‘equal’ and that whoever acquires political power rules over the country of Sweden. Currently, Sweden is ruled by those who view themselves as democratic socialists. This mindset of democratic socialism has worked for Sweden (mostly) and this will change significantly going forward IMO…with this new mindset of equality (called ‘multiculturalism’).

New immigrants with contrarian beliefs about reality (as is the case with Islam) will change political decisions as this new culture gains access to political power. Islam does not recognize secular Swedish thinking as reality (I think this is obvious). Secular thinking which has produced the Swedish mindset of ‘democratic socialism’ must change radically as this new culture of Islam gains political power within Sweden. In fact, this new culture of Islam has already changed Sweden significantly. I noticed it in my recent visit to Sweden in August, 2017.

Fredrick Modeus, the Bishop of Vaxjo, Sweden, has endorsed the application for the “Allahu Akbar” refrain to be broadcast via loudspeakers in this Swedish suburb. This will grow and become common throughout Sweden in time. Stockholm will likely follow this lead and soon the entire country of Sweden will be listening to this call for prayer to Allah. Muslims will benefit (as this is their belief system) but will all of Sweden have to follow and become Muslim in time? This is the huge question which those advocating ‘multiculturalism’ must address.

Multiculturalism means that all cultures must be treated as EQUAL and that political power must be distributed (equally) based on whoever acquires select positions of power. Sweden votes in 2018 and whoever acquires political power can change the laws and rules for the entire country. If I am a Muslim, and believe in Allah and the Koran, I will most likely impose my beliefs on all Swedes if I get the chance. I will desire to impose Sharia Law within Sweden as this is part of my belief system within Islam. And the thinking goes much deeper as I gain followers to my belief system.

Why would I not impose my beliefs if I acquire political power within the Swedish system of multiculturalism (equality for all)? It follows naturally that I will impose my beliefs (let’s say select Islamic beliefs) if I have the opportunity to do so! Are my Swedish friends thinking about these realities down the road? What does multiculturalism mean for Sweden in 10 years? Is anyone thinking about this? I hope my Swedish friends start to THINK about the consequences of this concept called ‘multiculturalism’! It sounds great on the surface but where does it LEAD (especially when certain cultures to not assimilate into the prior cultural belief system)!

Sweden is mostly a secular country which has become mostly Godless over the years. Christianity has lost its ‘salt’ in this country (mostly). I have noticed this for years. I appreciate this country of Sweden as it has mostly followed America in its thinking (politically). But all this is now changing and Sweden now desires to create a NEW republic where ‘multiculturalism’ prevails. This is significant as cultures within Sweden are living with contrarian beliefs and views about reality. Islam believes in Allah as God. This is significant as most Swedes do not believe in Allah or any God. Where does all this lead down the road?

My sense is that Sweden needs to start thinking about the consequences of their decisions (politically, morally, and philosophically). Do Swedes want Islam and Allah as their eventual God (assuming that Muslims gain access to important positions of political power) down the road? Multiculturalism means that whoever gains political power rules over the entire country. Are my Swedish friends AWARE of these political consequences? My sense is that they are NOT thinking about this potential future situation (at this point). It’s too early!

But I also sense that my Muslim friends (who are strong believers in Islam) will not THINK like traditional Swedes as they gain political power within Sweden. Muslims do not want to assimilate into a SECULAR Swedish culture that they reject as illusionary and Godless. I have talked to many Muslims (over the years) and these people are strong believers in their culture and their God. Allah is their God and this means that Allah’s imams will set the political agenda when these believers gain political access to positions of POWER. Beliefs create one’s philosophy and this leads to one’s decisions!

Does Sweden (the vast majority of Swedes) desire to become Islamic thinkers and also believers in Allah as God? Do they desire Sharia Law within Sweden? Do they desire calls to prayer via microphones where “Allahu Akbar” is broadcast in their many cities? What does this mean for Sweden going forward is the BIG question. My sense is that my Swedish friends need to start THINKING about these issues. Beliefs rule over all political decision-making. If I am a Muslim I must promote Allah as God. I must also promote Sharia Law as the ultimate political policy. Do my Swedish friends recognize where events are leading under this banner called ‘multiculturalism’?

There is both GOOD and BAD in the political arena over in Sweden IMO. Both sides of reality need to be analyzed and evaluated IMO. Will Sweden ALLOW both sides to be presented? This is the bigger question in my mind as I watch events unfold. The difference between Allah as God and no God (secular humanism) is substantial. Where do the Swedes desire to go? I witness a bifurcation in their thinking as I talk to my many Swedish friends. Are they thinking about this issue of what kind of country they desire for their children? Pass this missive around to more Swedes for their consideration. Enjoy! I am:
