The weather of the last 15 years over the planet actually has become less extreme. The number of tornadoes and hurricanes hitting the United States has decreased.

Name an issue and I am quite sure I will be able to find multiple studies advocating both sides. Mice are not humans. If you recall, a famous study called for the abolition of artificial sweeteners because their use caused cancer in mice. It turned out that the mice were given the equivalent of something like three thousand cans of diet soda per day. That the mice got cancer does not surprise me.

Are you aware that the main ingredient in many heart medications is warfarin which originally was used as rat poison? A safe drug to treat morning sickness in the 1950s and early 1960s, thalidomide, caused multiple birth defects but now is being used to treat cancer. It might be wise to take these medical studies with a grain of salt. Having listened to pro-marijuana advocates and arguments for the past 50 years, it seems to me that they can be boiled down to two things. Firstly is the argument that the government should not have the authority over which drugs are allowed or prohibited. The argument which usually holds the day after the other arguments have been refuted is that the pro-marijuana folks prefer to smoke dope to get high which is is fine. I just wish the other pro arguments which usually turn out to be silly would stop.

It seems both Sean and Jim do not not understand the US federal system, who is responsible for drug laws, and have a bias against Southerners with the Middle name of Beauregard. The Congress gave drug classification authority to the Food and Drug Administration and federal law takes precedence over state law. Congress can pass a law taking away that power from the FDA. Congress will not do that. As the Attorney General of the United States, Jeff Sessions is enforcing the laws of the United States. I suppose that the pro-marijuana camp is arguing that he not enforce the law. We tried that with immigration and it has not worked out very well.

As for Jeff Sessions personally, I have watched and listened to him for a number of years. He seems like a perfectly nice gentleman, nothwithstanding his middle name and Southern accent. If you examine all of the attacks against him over the years I think you will find that they are based in stereotypical prejudice. That should be avoided don’t you think; HEY!
